In 2006 a tornado struck Kentucky and destroyed 2 warehouses at Buffalo Trace. While the structure was damaged some of the barrels on the top floors survived. Aged between 9 and 11 years old and bottled at 100 proof, this high rye Bourbon embraces tangy spice and oak on the palate before citrus and bright floral notes round out a very assertive profile. The finish employs some caramel sweetness teetering on the cusp of toffee and bringing with it more orange zest.
